Calm weather is expected through Friday, but after that things get interesting as we go into the weekend (and the boy’s high school hockey state tournament championship games Saturday). Your seven-day outlook:
Yes, we’re skipping right ahead to the weekend, which is when a Winter Storm Watch is in effect from Saturday morning through Sunday afternoon. Right now snow will start during the midday hours Saturday with heavy snow expected during the afternoon hours due to snowfall rates of 1-2″ per hour. Moderate to heavy snow will continue Saturday Night before tapering off on Sunday. Overall snow totals of at least 8-12″ look possible at the moment from this system. Strong winds are expected as well with this system, with gusts up to 30 mph possible.
Oh, and another storm is possible toward the middle of next week, which could end up being a mix of rain and snow. That system is too far out at the moment to know any exact details… and we should probably get through the weekend storm first before paying too much attention.
