Watching A Potential Weekend Storm – Wednesday’s Twin Cities 7-Day Outlook

Enjoy the nice weather the next few days, as the snow returns this weekend. Your seven-day outlook:

While I would love to focus on the calm weather the next few days, with highs climbing into the 30s by Friday, unfortunately a potential winter storm is going to hog our attention.

Yes, we already sit at 62.4″ of snow this winter in the Twin Cities, and it looks like we’ll add to that this weekend as a storm makes its way into the upper Midwest. It is the boy’s high school hockey tournament weekend, so we have to have our Tournament Snowstorm, right? It now appears precipitation will be in the form of all snow in the Twin Cities, starting off around midday Saturday and lasting into Sunday, and falling heavily at times. We could see some heavy snow totals across the region, though I’m not ready to put snowfall totals out just yet. Also of concern will be strong wind gusts, especially Saturday Night into Sunday, which will cause low visibilities due to blowing and drifting snow. Stay tuned the next few days for the latest information.
