Three Injured in Early Morning Shooting Downtown

On January 7, Minneapolis Police Officers working off-duty aired that shots were being fired in the area 3rd Street North and 1st Avenue North at approximately 1:53 am.

Officers immediately located two adult victims, both suffering from gunshot wounds. Officers provided medical care to the victims until paramedics arrived. The victims were transported to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) by ambulance. The adult female victim is being treated for non-life threatening wounds. The second victim, an adult male, was shot multiple times and is currently in critical condition at HCMC.

At 3:32 am. officers were informed that a third victim had been treated and released for a graze wound from North Memorial Medical Center (NMMC). This male victim stated that he had been shot downtown.

Officers interviewed witnesses at the shooting scene and are checking with business owners in the area to see if the shooting was captured on surveillance cameras. No arrests have been made.

Officers from the First Precinct will be in the area of the shooting during the day speaking with business owners and community members. Anyone with information about this shooting, or any other crime is encouraged to speak with the officers.
